About PledgePair

Match a gift. Multiply the good.

Giving is better with someone else

Most charitable giving happens alone. You see an appeal, you decide, you donate, and that's the end of it. Nobody knows, nobody joins in, and the moment passes.

PledgePair exists because giving spreads when it's social. A pledge that someone else can match turns a private decision into a shared one — and a shared one into a story worth passing on.

How a pair works

You create a pledge: a cause you care about and an amount you're willing to give. You share the link. When someone takes you up on it, you both donate — and PledgePair makes you a card showing what the two of you did together.

That's the whole idea. One gift becomes two. Two people who might never have talked about giving now have.

We never touch the money

This is the most important thing to understand about PledgePair, and it's deliberate. Donations go directly from you to the nonprofit through Every.org or the nonprofit's own donation platform. PledgePair never receives, holds, or processes charitable funds, and never issues tax receipts.

We're not a charity, a nonprofit, a fundraiser, or a fiscal sponsor. We're a tool that helps two people coordinate giving that happens somewhere else entirely.

It means we can't lose your donation, misdirect it, or take a cut of it — because it never passes through us. Your receipt comes from the nonprofit, not from us.

What we do and don't verify

When a donation goes through Every.org, we get a confirmation and mark it verified. When someone donates another way and tells us they did, we mark it self-confirmed — and we say so on the page.

A pledge is a personal commitment between people, not a contract we enforce. We show you honestly which donations were verified and which were self-reported, and we let you decide what to make of it.

Who's behind it

PledgePair is built and operated by Appleseed Media LLC, a small South Dakota company. It started as one person's side project and is still built that way — which means you're reading words written by the person who wrote the code.

If something's broken, confusing, or wrong, emailing support@pledgepair.com reaches an actual human who can fix it.

How PledgePair pays for itself

PledgePair is free to use. There's no fee to create a pledge, no cut of donations, and no charge to pair with someone.

The platform is supported by optional tips, merchandise, and advertising. Every one of those goes to Appleseed Media LLC, none of them are charitable donations, and none of them are tax-deductible. We keep that line bright on purpose.

Start something

A pledge takes about a minute to create. The hard part is picking who to challenge.
